After a long day of work and a short two hours of sleep, the stupid smoke detector decided it wanted to wake me up by beeping every twenty seconds. The beep is piercing and now I can't go back to sleep.
As I lay in bed counting the intervals between each beep, I just remembered that I changed the damn battery a month ago. So I get the step ladder and see if I can just take the battery out and reinstall it. When I took it out, I saw that it was a duracell battery and I thought of all those commercials with duracell ( correct me if I am wrong) that say the firemen and and the brick house child sonar thingy to look for kids rely on these batteries. Why isn't it working for me! It's just a smoke detector, But I went three years prior to this battery without changing it.
Now I am just sitting here, angry. Every beep pushes me just a little over the edge, and I can't really do anything about it because we don't have that kind of battery in the house. We have everything BUT that battery.
I looked in the battery pile and we had four packs of AAA, a family-mega pack of 56 AA, a few C batteries and an E battery. But no fricken D-battery, the one I need. To look on the bright side, my remotes for the T.V. will never go dead. That is, if I can ever find the remotes.
Work last night was great. I made a little over a hundred which I am proud to do on a monday night, which is known as Dead Spread night (dead tables all night). A man Bet $2.50 for me on a royal match and we won so it paid out 30 to 1. He bet five dollars, so he got his $150 and for my $2.50 bet, I got $75. On the next table, this woman was tipping me five dollars for five hands, and then later on in the day I dealt some lady 3 blackjacks in a row on $50 bets so she threw me a green ($25) chip. Not too shabby for a slow day. I made it from three people, but that's how my job works, one good customers makes your night, ten good customers make your week.
I work again tonight, I hope tonight will be as good as last night. I don't think so, but I better make something. I've made my money on wednesday nights before, don't fail me now!!
