Uneventful week.

Well, I shouldn't say that. It wasn't entirely uneventful because Monday has become the annual chicken day for Cha and I.
We ate chicken from the monday flee market for breakfast, ate Orange chicken and Teriyaki chicken from the mall for lunch, and then went to Boba Island for some chicken wings. That day was successful.

I bought a book that day. It was $26.67 ($24.99 w/o tax)
The book was called "Waiter Rant" by Steve Dublanica.
This book is about Steve's life as a waiter. From why he became a waiter, the problems they encounter and the sensitive subject, tips.

I could really relate to a lot of what he was saying. My job is pretty much the same except it doesn't deal with food and drinks. I especially could relate on his statement on work schedules.
In the book he says that the work schedules are weird because he works while people are off so scheduling social time with friends outside of the restaurant business is really hard. Especially people with the regular 9-5 schedules. And one statement he made that was really true for our type of job is that taking time off for friends can cost money. Mainly because we work for tips and that day could make it or break it.
There were a lot of things in that book that just changed my outlook on service, and kind of made me feel better about my new and weird lifestyle.

I loved the book. I felt like he was talking to me. I can now add this to my list of favorite books.

And now the twist.

I returned that sucker.

I finished in two days, and I got my damn $26 bucks back! Sorry but times are rough and why pay that much if I am only going to read it once when I know for a fact that it will go on sale, and in a few more years, end up in the library where I can read it for free. Why don't I just wait? It was just released and I wanted to read it now. I felt happy to get my $26 back. I used it for gas.

And I used that for the wonderful Thai food I ate last night.

I work tonight. I made quite a bit of money for the past two days that I worked. I think it is because customers are getting know me and like me more. I am a little more skilled than I was when I first started and I almost never mess up ( don't get cocky!) so I guess customers are getting better about tipping the new guy.

There are just some people I cannot stand. But that's in every customer service industry. I hate the people that tell you to hurry up.

My initial response to that is BITCH!
