The LA Trip was really great. I feel like my old self again. I felt creative, energetic, and motivated.

When I used to live in San Diego, I've always been going back and forth to LA. But it was always a trip with parents, and I never really got to really explore LA, so it was always so ho-hum to me. All it was to me was an over crowded city with Theme parks.

But now I feel like I understand the bigger cities better. I mean, I'm not a kid any more.

So this is Day 2 of the trip.

The day started early for me. I woke up at around 8 in the morning and I couldn't sleep any more so I left Charlene and I went to my car ALLL the way to the park and parked closer. I think I did that after I posted my last blog post hahaha.

After that, I took a shower, Charlene took a shower, and we left. For breakfast, we went to Roscoe's Fried Chicken and Waffles. We've heard about that place so many time and we finally got to try it. But Goodness, it left us so sleepy, and man, you gain 10lbs off that crap. But it was GOOOD. Southern food, Gotta love it.

After that we went to Chinatown again and got some more food. We craved the shrimp Har kaw
We went to Chinatown about how many times during this trip and had a billion pieces of dimsum. Mainly Har Kaw. I took a million pictures just to prove how many we ate. It was so good. And not to mention cheap. Worth every penny!!

We also went to all the little districts in downtown LA.

First we went to Little Tokyo.
It was nice, but I guess you can say that it was literally little. The area was about 5 blocks around with a shopping galleria, high rises and a few sushi restaurants. Charlene and I didn't go to any sushi places. I guess those places didn't stick out because of how expensive they are and I guess we grew up on sushi so it wasn't something that really sparked our appetites.
We went into the Shopping Galleria and looked around at the little japanese trinkets. Nothing we haven't seen before. With our Japanese backgrounds, it wasn't much of anything that we really wanted to buy. I guess we would only buy it if we lived there and really needed.
I think the cooler part of that area was the arcade. They had All these famous japanese arcade games, like DDR (of course), street fighter(in japanese of course) and the original guitar hero, which consists of only three buttons.
We also ran across this Cool drumming game called "Taiko". It was also funny how we found this old game called "the typing of the dead" where I guess you kill the zombies by typing a command. Or something like that. Over all, we didn't buy a single thing. It was too expensive, and nothing really we haven't seen before. The stuff we buy would sit and collect dust any ways.

After that, we ended up following the streets into the toy district, and into the fashion district. We parked some where on 1st street and ended up walking all over the two districts. We walked about 17 blocks total, and found absolutely nothing to buy. We were a bit disappointed really because we had high hopes of cool stores and botiques, but ended up with all kinds of stores with cheap and knock off brands of everything. NOt to be mean, but everything there was literally junk. Those two districts were the capital of fake coach bags and fake levi jeans. It was Knock-off brand city! But we walked around. It was fun. It felt like we were in a different country. The scenery was really nice though. I liked seeing the skyscrapers.
But seriously, I think we just had higher hopes for the toy and the fashion district. We thought we would see collector stores, things like FAO Schwartz, and clothing brands like Guess and stuff, but those two are literally just giant flea markets. We lost the 10 lbs from the Chicken an waffles from early on that walk. I think the thing I enjoyed was watching the people. It was just fun watching people. This is life for them.

Oh yeah, the only thing I bought and actually enjoyed were the popsicles from the ice cream man. I got Blue from Fosters Home For Imaginary friends. I love those character popsicles. It brings back memories from my childhood. Good times.

After that, we decided to try going to West Holly wood. It didn't turn out too well. There were too many cars, and after having to pay so much for parking through out the day, we were not about to pay $10 for parking. SO we just drove by. I was so frustrated. Charlene and I were both bitchy and hungry. We didn't speak to each other for a good half hour. We needed to used to bathroom really bad, and we were hungry, so we ended up eating some kfc (because we got desperate with all the meters being taxi zones after 6pm) and things were all better.

During the KFC moment, we discussed a few things and we decided to stay one more night. SO we ended up going to China town *again* and ate some more dim sum and bought some for my aunt. Dinner was really great, and we made a new favorite Chinese restaurant.

After dinner, we decided to go back to Long Beach so we can find a parking spot. Which we did, but it was a little walk away, but not as far as the night before. It was a nice night so we decided to walk around. I don't know how much we walked around but we were walking non stop for about two hours. We stopped by a few liquor stores for water and ice and it was fun just seeing what was around the area. We also discussed how much we like the area and how much we want to move over there. It was magical. Every thing is walking distance, and walking around at night is as safe as it can be.

I guess the fact that there are a lot of Gay men and women in that area make it all the more safer because everyone is just so liberal and they just tolerate eachother's presence. I liked that, because it made it safer to walk at the dead of night. Even the Bums were nice people. They didn't beg for money, they just sang a song and walked on their merry way. I started to remember how it was like to walk every where.

When we discussed why we liked area, we came up with some good points:

-It's laid back, but also busy
-It's a city by the beach!
-It's pretty affordable considering it being so near to the beach.
-The weather is nice all year long
-Long Beach State is right there.

The only bad thing is the parking situation.

After that, we spoke to My aunt and her room mate and just had a nice conversation. We talked about Parents because we all don't get along with family in a sense. Mainly me. But we also heard the room mate's life story of how she became a lesbian. Which was boring. But I think it was pretty cool that she could confidently come out and say that to strangers. But she was boring nonetheless.

The next day,(day 3)
I parked in the wrong spot at the wrong time of that specific day due to street cleaning and got a parking ticket, Which kind of sucked, but I wasn't too mad about it. My aunt got one too because she overslept and forgot to move her car. But We weren't too mad about it at all, I mean, we can't do anything about anyways, so what is the point of getting mad about it right? And plus, it's my fault because I DIDN'T READ.

The morning started off slow. We spoke to my aunt a little bit and just started preparing to leave. After that we left her apartment, and said our goodbyes
and went to ChinaTown again!
It was fun, and we tried this Cambodian-Chinese restaurant and ate this really good Garlic mandarin chicken. It really hit to spot. And of course, more Dim sum. But this time from a different place. We even went on a hunt to go look for more hole in the wall places to eat from. I think the dim sum place was the best hole in the wall so far. But their shrimp was so spicy! We had a little fun looking around but had to leave because of the Meter and we had no more coins left.

After that we left for home and that was the end of the adventure. The ride back was really smooth. But we didn't want to leave yet.

We got home and everything sucked. We went to art hop, or the last bit of it and it pissed us off. We saw all the dumb people that lived in Fresno. We met up with Charlene's friend Erica to take her out for dinner since it was her birthday, but since Erica's Posse "wasn't hungry" Charlene and I ended up getting our own food some where. Erica's posse pissed us off. They were indecisive brats. And even if they are near our age, they seem like little kids. After all the things Charlene and I have done and all the daily responsibilities that we have, we feel like Erica's friends were just a bunch of kids that don't know anything. They were so boring. I tried to make conversation with them and they were just so awkward. I don't know how friends can sit in silence and be so awkward like that. That's acquaintance status.

But Charlene and I went home with a big aura of disdain. We didn't want to go home. We talked about how much we hate this place and we want to move.
And we also talked about how we pretty much stopped trying to make friends in this area. So far everyone we've met has pretty much become a loser.
I made a vow to myself that I don't want to get involved with anyone from here because that would give me a reason to stay. I'm done with trying out relationships here. The girls are stupid, the guys are stupid. They are all so stupid here that I have to separate the genders when calling them stupid. They think their shit don't stink and everyone wants them... Well I don't.

But that's the trip. It ended in a bittersweet note, but all in all, this was a fantastic trip. I want to go again and see some other areas. I am determined to move there when I transfer. I feel like I belong there.
