Usually when it comes to people being overly religious, I just stay quiet. I don’t argue because there’s no arguing with those people because it doesn’t serve any justice to tell them off because arguing just makes it worse.

But today, this morning, I argued with my cousin. She was really starting to hit a nerve with me so I just had to say something back.

She’s a jobless 23 year old Super Christian with a tramp stamp and multiple boyfriends. I don’t understand her and her values because she is such a fricken slut (an ugly one), but yet she tells me that I am not a good person for not believing in god. I questioned her about that trampstamp (it’s a devil by the way) and asked her why she has it there and she said some bullshit like “it’s the god’s way of showing I’m a demon killer” or something shit like that. I so wanted to slap her. And yes, she’s serious.

So today, she asked me to go to church very early in the morning. I was really cranky and told her no and she told me that it was a sin to not wake up for church. I told her ” yeah well, you try working til 4 in the morning and getting up for that that”, and then she goes on and on about the importance of this and that and she struck a nerve when she said that homosexuals must be purified and ridden of because they aren’t right in god’s eyes. I got maddddd. But that wasn’t enough to spark my arguement.

What made me really mad was when she said: ” I don’t know how you can be so ignorant as to not believe in god.” That’s when I started getting all OPRAH on her ass!!

I told her off.

I said to her:

” For a 23 year old girl living in the city, with a tattoo near her butt crack, you are pretty darn stupid, you know why? Because you are going around with this illusion that you and your people hold the almighty truth. First off, let’s talk about the tattoo. You know that’s called a tramp stamp, and you know how people view it as, why did you get it? And why did you get a devil?

Secondly, you live in the city. Tell me how in the world you went to a public high school and still believe that your religion is the only thing out there. I would expect that from someone who lived in a small town all their lives but not from a girl that lives in a city, went to public high school, and partied it up like an MTV show.

And homosexuals are none of your business. If you aren’t down with it then leave it alone. I’m not going to tell you that you are wrong for your opinion on homosexuals, but I would like to tell you that they are people too. Why do you speak this way about them? You talk so much about loving people because of “god’s way” but then say things about people as if they shouldn’t even exist.

You really should reconsider your ways. I’m not telling you that you shouldn’t believe in what you believe in, but look around.”

After that she asked me what I meant about reconsidering her ways, and that everything is going fine the way it is.

I wanted to hit her so bad. Do you see why I don’t argue with people of religion?

  1. Talk about an Oprah moment, I think you need a "Gayle", I can help you out with that!

The way you reacted is understandable as people can only hold back for so long.

Just move up and onward, its really a "pick your battles" situation.

  2. Good for you.

And since when is it a sin to sleep late? I haven't seen that one in the bible. Oh yeah - I don't read the bible. I'm pretty sure it doesn't say anything about homosexuals needing purification or not being right in god's eyes.

I love how so many of these "religious" people are so judgmental of others.

  3. Yep. I want to hit them all with the burrito I am eating.

    Burrito slap!

C'mon "Gayle" let's get all talk show on her!

  4. *pats Masa on the back* That was a good throwdown. Hahaha. But yea, sometimes it doesn't get through no matter how had we try to persuade and no matter how logical it is for us to see.

Ughhh... it's sad to say but I know similar people. Tooting their horn about believing in something yet being a complete hypocrite in how they live their lives. Sometimes they do need burrito slaps. =p

  5. ur cousin is VERY oblivious to her ignorance (>.<)
and if you couldnt punch a hole in her thick skull, then i doubt there'd b anyone who can make her "reconsider her ways". lol
and honestly, neither do i argue with the minority of unstable religious ppl.
Honestly, i have a friend who's catholic and shes fine with me being gay and i can never see me and her arguing. Why cant other's take on this perception?

  6. I'm so glad that my cousin is gone. She has dragon breath and I wanted her to leave since day one. She asked me
to duet a sing with her and her breath stank so much that I ha to stop and say that I didn't know the words.

And this whole religion thing just Made me see her twice as as irritating
